College

Hello!

Hello again and welcome back to my blog again. Today I will be talking about College next year. Next year I will be going to St Patricks town over in Kilbirnie with some of the other year 8 boys as it is an only a boys college. My older brother already goes their and I here some friends from the year up how goes their some I'll know some people their already.  One thing I want to achieve/try is to get into a water polo team so I could go up to Auckland for a tournament and another think is to do well in the end of year exams and try to get into a-stream for math and english. One thing that I'm excited about playing Futsal for St Pats and learning the different Subjects that I've chosen and the ones that are compulsory. Some things that will be challenging will be getting a lot more home work and also going on year 9 and 10 camps as we will probably go hiking. I can't wait for next to go of to college because I'm excited for all the different things St Pats will offer.

So that looks like thats it so......

Goodbye!

Book week

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about what every I want so so I came up with something easy to do so why not do it on book week. As you might know last week at school we had book week. Book week is what it really sounds like, a week with different book activities such  as the book swap and book character day which I will talk about later. The book swap is when you bring in a book and depending on how many you bring in you came swap it for other books from other people. I was going to do the swap and I brought in a book I just forgot to go down to the library and get another book, but it doesn't really matter. The next part of this blog is about book character day which is always held on the last day of book week. On this day we have book parade outside which all the classrooms so everyone can see each others customs and the house captains decide how will win prizes for the best customs. Also on that day we have the book quiz were each of the four houses pick two people from each year to compete in the book quiz. In the book quiz if your team win you get quite a bit of house points which will be added on to the normal house points and what ever house get the most at the end of the year wins the house cup.

So that looks like that it so.......

My favourite book from when I was young

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about my favourite book from when I was young and that book is Hairy Maclary. The reason we have to write about a book from when we were young is because at school this week is book week so its pretty much what it sounds like with all these different book activities. I don't really know why I liked this book as I just kept reading it as its probably because Hairy Maclary has like a little group of dogs that go out and do all these different types of things. I also really liked the pictures as they look really good and full of detail. I liked this book when I was about 4-7 years old and I would have to give the book a 8/10.

So that looks like thats it so.......

Goodbye!

3 Things I've learned recently

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about three thing I've learned recently. Well their isn't much else to talk about so lets get onto the things I've learned recently.

 1. Algebra.
In math the year 8 boys had a quick lesson on algebra because later on in that day we had St Pats testing to see if we got into A-stream for Maths or English. The two test we had to do were quite long and the maths it kept getting harder and harder and that was when algebra came into the test. With these questions I sort of knew what to do so I can say the quick math lesson was really helpful. Hopefully the year 8 boys did well when it came to those questions.

2. German.
My second is German. A couple  days ago we had a German test to see if we were listening when we were doing German in class. Although it wasn't a long test we had to study. On the first time I did the test I didn't pass. The next day the people who didn't pass had to do the test again and this time I studied a lot more than I did on the first time and I passed the second test. The way I remembered to help me pass was by writing down the word in German and seeing if it is right. What I'm trying to say is that is better to study than not to study.

3. Hockey.
In school we have been learning hockey on the courts after lunch. So far we have learned how to do the three different dribbles. One way that I remembered is the Indian dribble and that's when you move the hockey stick from side to side. The way I remembered this is that Ford ( our hockey coach ) he told as the story behind the dribble.

One way I can improve my learning is to listen more in class and if I'm around people who are talking move away from them to somewhere else were I can listen.

So that looks like that's it so.........
Goodbye!

Passion project

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about my passion project. At school the year 7 and 8s started a thing called a passion project. A passion project is when you work on something you are passionate about and you want to get better at and this year Jacob ( my friend ) and I are doing our passion project on Minecraft. In Minecraft we are mainly focusing on learning and using red stone. Since we don't know anything about red stone we have to search up how to build and using red stone on the internet. So far Minecraft has been pretty fun as I learned how to build a fully automatic red stone TNT cannon and guess what? It works. In Minecraft I've always wanted to know how to use red stone so what be way to learn than to do it as my passion project. Now I will answer some questions.

What topic have you chosen?
Well learning how to use red stone in Minecraft.

What sort of things do you plan to do?
Well we don't really know, but we will search up what to do in Minecraft which uses red stone.

So that looks like thats it so....

Goodbye!

Athletics

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be taking athletics day our school did last Thursday.  I quite like athletics so the day wasn't too bad, I'm saying I enjoyed the day. We did the athletics down at Nairnville park on the field. For each year group the girls and boys go around doing each different station and if you get in the top three or two you get to go through too the northern zones and then if you do well in the northern zones you go through to the inter zones. So now I will answer some questions.

What were your favourite and least favourite events?
My least favourite event was probably the sprints and my favourite event was the vortex as I came third out of all the year 8 boys.

Say something at the athletics were you showed an EPIC value. (  EPIC meaning: Empathy, Perseverance, Integrity and Creativity. )
The time when I showed one of these values was when I showed perseverance when I did the 1.5 km run as I was 1 of 5 year 8 boys who did it which I was really happy when I finished the run.

So that looks like thats it so.....

Goodbye!

My Holidays!

Hello!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking about something I did in the holidays was I just stayed at home in my pyjamas watching movies as that is one off my favourite things to do. The movies I watched was the Harry Potter movies as the series were on sky movies. I really like just relaxing watching movies and sleeping in. Another thing I did in the holidays was I went to Jacobs birthday which was at the tramp park in the hutt. It was really fun I keep jumping into the foam pit doing the whale was is when you jump in with your arms down your side and going on a side angel. Another cool thing we did their was that we did a front flip train on the Olympic tramp and we got up to 17 flips altogether and then someone failed it.

Goodbye!
